“We can put in a great performance against Genoa, a side that has really stepped up several gears since Gian Piero Gasperini took over,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“After all, we’re talking about a great tactician who knows Serie A very well. We need to become more ruthless and maintain the same belief, then we’ll bring home the results too.”
This is Sassuolo’s first ever top flight campaign after they won the Serie B tournament in May.
“It was an extraordinary 2013, as we achieved an unexpected target, put together quite a few points in Serie A and now want to fight in order to stay in this Division.
“I hope that 2014 can let the lads realise they must battle game after game. We mustn’t let our heads drop or even give up when faced with difficulties. It’s that attitude and consistency we haven’t always stuck to in the past.”
