“After the Christmas break I was very happy to see my players so eager to get back to work,” said Corini in his Press conference.
“In the last two defeats against Sampdoria and Torino we paid an excessive price for some mistakes, as otherwise those were good performances. I identified the situations where we went wrong and tried to correct them along with the lads in training.
“I think we have the quality to play good football, as for example against Livorno we had some wonderful attacking moves. Some fans might think we move the ball around too much, but that’s just a way of getting our opponents to move and find the right gap.
“Cagliari prove themselves to be fearsome opponents every season and keep their stars for a long time, making a tidy profit if they do move on.
“This squad is a mixture of quality and strength with Daniele Conti, Radja Nainggolan and Albin Ekdal in midfield. Victor Ibarbo, Marco Sau and Andrea Cossu can be devastating on the counter-attack.”
