The capital club have been linked with a move for the Dutch centre-back this month, with the player’s contract set to expire on Merseyside in June.

As such, the 30-year-old’s representative has revealed that the defender is likely to leave Goodison Park, but not for the Giallorossi.

“Given his contractual situation, Heitinga will be gone in January, for sure, “Fabio Parisi told Radio Mana Sport.

“Roma? Sabatini has never asked about the boy – Leandro Castan and Mehdi Benatia are two central defenders of a great level.

“I don’t think they’ll go for him. At the moment, no Italian team has asked about Johnny, but I am sure Everton would like to get something started.”
