Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic has admitted that Mario Gomez has been missed during his recent absence.
The German forward has been out for three months after suffering knee ligament damage, but is expected to be back after Christmas.
And the centre-back has insisted that the goalscorer will make a difference when he comes back into the team.
“We have missed Gomez,” he told Brivido Sportiva. “He’s such a strong player – a true champion.
“He has infinite quality, so his return will mean we can really fight for third place.
“When we defend, we do it as one, so it’s clear that we could perhaps score a few more goals.
“Mario will give us that.”
