Antonio Conte refused to speak to the media, but director Beppe Marotta confessed Radja Nainggolan is “ideal for Juventus.”
The Coach did not hold a Press conference before the 4-1 victory away to Atalanta and left journalists waiting after the final whistle too.
He is protesting at his name again being mentioned in the latest chapter of the Calcioscommesse match-fixing scandal.
“It is the duty of a club to support its Coach and help him to stay calm,” explained director Marotta on Sky Sport Italia.
“He is bitter because his name gets dragged through the mud every time there is a new development in the Calcioscommesse investigation, despite the fact he has already paid a heavy price. He doesn’t want to keep answering the same questions on something that is far behind him.”
The Bianconeri conceded a goal after 744 minutes of football, but still dominated the second half to win 4-1 in Bergamo.
“We must not look at our five-point advantage from second place, as instead the consistency or results and performances are more important. Atalanta fought back quickly, but then over time Juve deserved the victory.
“This is a solid group with real determination. We were built to win, adding important elements each year, and I must say today Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez made their mark.”
Marotta was asked about the January transfer window, as Mirko Vucinic has been linked with a move to England, while Juve are among those chasing Cagliari midfielder Nainggolan.
“Mirko is still recovering from a knee injury. If someone wants to leave then they will be allowed to go, but so far we have not heard any such sentiment expressed.
“As for Nainggolan, he is a great player and one that is ideal for Conte’s Juventus philosophy. We have a good rapport with Cagliari, so we’ll see what happens.
“Would his arrival mean selling Arturo Vidal? No, at least for this season no big names will be leaving.”
