Inter will make signings in January if they feel they are necessary, admits general director Marco Fassone.

“The January transfer window is a peculiar one, as everyone knows,” the official stated when asked about possible new faces.

“You can’t set a strategy in which you say ‘I’m going to take this player rather than that one’ because in this moment every team is trying to improve their current situation.

“You can’t set a strategy in which you say ‘I’m going to take this player rather than that one’ because in this moment every team is trying to improve their current situation.

“If specific moves are required then they’ll be made, which will be compatible with the possibilities this window will permit.

“Technical director Marco Branca and sporting director Piero Ausilio have been closely taking care of these things for quite some time now and steadily monitoring the possibilities.

“Should any come up they’ll be evaluated.”

Inter are expected to sell Fredy Guarin in January, with Chelsea believed to be ready to offer €15m for the Colombian.
