Samir Handanovic “takes responsibility” for Inter’s 3-3 draw with Parma and explained what happened with his howler.

The goalkeeper fumbled a Gabriel Paletta cross for Marco Parolo to tap in from point-blank range, giving the Ducali a temporary 2-1 lead on the stroke of half-time.

“These things can happen to anyone. I wanted to avoid a corner and spark the attacking move, but unfortunately it slipped through my grasp,” Handanovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am so sorry and take responsibility for this draw, as that goal changed the game. It’s a shame for my teammates and the fans that we were unable to bring home an important victory.”

The error was just one of many throughout the Nerazzurri side, as they have conceded five goals in their last two games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

“We need to improve, that is true, as we allow too many counter-attacks. However, I would not compare this to last season, as that is in the past now.

“Perhaps in the first few games of the season there was more tension, determination and concentration.”
