Having grown up in Brescia, he has revealed that although he hasn’t considered a return to Italy in recent times, he hopes to play for the club before hanging up his boots.

“Italian football is too tactical and a bit boring,” he told Quelli che il Calcio. “I didn’t really consider a return to Serie A over the past few months, but I can’t hide the fact that I would like to end my career at Brescia.”

With Eugenio Corini’s men currently in second place in Serie B, promotion back to the top flight could perhaps open up the potential of a move for Balotelli.

Meanwhile, the former Milan and Inter forward also discussed his hopes of returning to the fold for Italy through his form for Marseille in the coming months.

“[Roberto] Mancini is the Coach who knows me best, but I don’t expect any favours. I want the national team but I have to earn it on the pitch by scoring lots of goals.”
