Andrea Poli insists gaining three points is the only option when his Milan side entertain Genoa on Saturday.

“We have to win at all costs,” the summer signing from Sampdoria told Milan Channel on Thursday.

“We’re struggling in the League and we have to turn things around. But there’s no point in talking about it – we have to do it.

“It’ll be an important match against an organised team. We’ll have to play well, but we can do it.

“Attitude and commitment is key. We have to take to the pitch and be stronger than our opponents. We want to impose our game.”

Milan have failed to win any of their last four League games, while the Grifone have won four of their last five.

Poli, despite the struggles of his club, has caught the eye and recently won the praise of club legend Gennaro Gattuso.

“I’m very happy to wear this jersey and I always try and give 100 per cent,” he added. “What Gattuso said is very pleasing and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank him.”

He continued: “I’ve been called up to the national side and getting to Brazil 2014 is an objective. There are many good players and I’ll be trying to make sure I’m ready if called upon.

“I just think about my role here and the choices are up to the Coach to make.”
