New Inter owner Erick Thohir has denied suggestions that he has contacted Leonardo about taking over as sporting director.
The Indonesian businessman has reportedly been on the lookout for a new head of sport, but the Nerazzurri chief has claimed that he hasn’t spoken to the Brazilian, or Walter Sabatini.
“I have never spoken with either of them,” he told Republika. “I haven’t asked them to come to Inter.”
Thohir then responded to questions regarding new signings in January.
“Nainggolan? I haven’t talked with him either, or with anyone else for that matter.
“Our project is a long-term one. We want to improve the stability of the club over many years.
“I will talk with Mazzarri and Branca soon, and we will take stock of the situation, discussing possible January signings.”
