Di Biagio: Italy have obligation to win

Italy Under-21’s face Northern Ireland on Thursday night, and Coach Gigi Di Biagio has insisted that his side have an ‘obligation’ to win.

The British side sit at the foot of the European Championship qualifying group with zero points, but the tactician has claimed that his men won’t take three points for granted.

“We have an obligation to win,” he told reporters. “We have to bring forward our ideas and learned from what has happened so far.

“We have grown up in the last few games, that much is obvious. But we have to follow up the good result last time against Belgium.

“Ireland may be on zero points, but I think that will make them more of a challenge for us than Belgium.”
