We needed a win, rues Matri

Alessandro Matri has admitted his Milan side were left frustrated by their 0-0 draw at Chievo on Sunday.

The Diavolo were looking for their first win in four League games, but they couldn’t break down the bottom of the table club.

“We’re disappointed that we didn’t get the result as it was important to win here in Verona,” said the summer signing from Juventus. “Disappointed for ourselves and all of those around us.

“It’s our fault, but it’s also the period that we’re going through. It’s as if the ball just doesn’t want to go in.

“Now we have the international break and we have two weeks to work hard and stick together to get back to action the best way we can.

“We have to get back because we are Milan.”

The Diavolo are tenth in the standings after winning just three of their 12 games this term. They are 19 points away from League leaders Roma and 15 shy of the Champions League zone.
