Miralem Pjanic has suggested he is ready to sit down and sign a new contract with Serie A leaders Roma.

The player’s future in the capital is in some doubt as his contract expires in 2015 and numerous big European clubs are being linked with his services, including Tottenham and Manchester United.

“I still have a year and a half left on my agreement,” the man signed from Lyon in 2011 commented. “We’ll have to see what happens.

“I’m very happy here and the club is aware of that fact. When the time comes to talk then we will do so, but they already know my thoughts.”

The 23-year-old was linked with a move during the summer, but new boss Rudi Garcia has found an integral role for him in the side.

“He told me instantly upon his arrival that he wanted me in his team and that he would give me an important role.

“I immediately felt his faith and I know that I can improve as a player with him.”

Pjanic has three goals in 11 games so far this campaign.
