‘Juve deserved to beat Real’

Italian goalkeeping legend Dino Zoff insists Iker Casillas is the only reason Juventus didn’t beat Real Madrid in midweek.

The Bianconeri collected a 2-2 draw at the Juventus Stadium in a spectacular game of European Cup football.

“I’m very satisfied with Juventus’ performance,” the former Old Lady custodian and Coach told Calcio News 24.

“Antonio Conte’s side gave their all against Real and the 2-2 draw is a little tight for them to be honest – they deserved a win.

“Casillas made two or three high class saves and Real found the determination of Arturo Vidal and company difficult to deal with.”

Juventus are now bottom of their group with just three points from four games, but they still have a chance of progression.

“Things have changed in terms of morale at the club,” Zoff added. “Confidence is now high and I think they still have an excellent chance of reaching the knock-out stages.”

Juventus will go through with wins at home to Copenhagen and away at Galatasaray.
