Sulley Ali Muntari is confident “Milan will emerge from this difficult time” and stand by Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The Rossoneri have picked up just two points from their last five games between Serie A and Champions League.

“We didn’t want to lose against Barcelona, but at the moment things aren’t going our way,” Muntari told Milan Channel after last night’s 3-1 defeat.

“We want to do well and will soon emerge from this difficult time. Yesterday we played the way the Coach wanted us to and how we had prepared this match in training.

“Refereeing errors are also part of football, but we must work and keep our feet on the ground to overcome this negative period.”

Allegri came under fire last night after surprisingly benching Mario Balotelli for the first half.

“He is our Coach and we must always follow his instructions,” noted Muntari. “It is not an easy time for our fans, and we know that, but we will always give 100 per cent on the field.”

Milan have a crucial trip to bottom of the table Chievo this weekend, as they risk dropping into the danger zone.

“It won’t be easy against Chievo, but we have to go there looking to do well and win.”
