Lazio have dismissed claims circulating on Sunday evening that boss Vladimir Petkovic had quit as Coach.

“With regards to the rumours, regarding the presumed resignation of Vladimir Petkovic, Lazio state that the news is without foundation,” read a brief statement.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport is today suggesting that Sinisa Mihajlovic could potentially take over from Petkovic if results don’t pick up.

Mihajlovic, a former player for the Biancocelesti, is currently in charge of the Serbian national side.

The Stadio Olimpico outfit have had a problematic start to the season after collecting just 11 points from eight games so far.

Lazio, who have also conceded 12 goals in Serie A this term, lost 2-1 at Atalanta on Sunday afternoon.
