Vladimir Petkovic praised Lazio’s fightback at Trabzonspor and insists “we deserved to win this game.”

The Biancocelesti were trailing for almost the entire match, but two Sergio Floccari goals in 60 seconds secured a late 3-3 draw in the Europa League tie.

“The draw shows us that Lazio are here and have a future,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We made a few too many mistakes, but we reacted and played good football. At the end, we deserved to win this game.”

The injury crisis forced Petkovic to field several youngsters, giving Brayan Perea and Felipe Anderson their debuts.

“This is a united group and the new players have been with the squad for 15 days. I was pleasantly surprised, because they played for the team as well as showing good individual skills.

“We need to work on many phases of the game, but tonight the players did well. We are now unbeaten in three and must not let negativity creep in. I was not tense in my Press conference yesterday, but to have respect you must first give respect.”

Apollon earned a surprise 1-0 win away to Legia Warsaw, so Lazio and Trabzonspor remain joint top of Group J with four points.
