Gianluca Vialli is confident former club Sampdoria can recover from their difficult start to the season.
The Marassi outfit are in the relegation zone after picking up just two points from the first six games of the campaign.
“You only get out of situations like this if the squad and club stays compact, there must be complete trust between the club, team, Coach and the whole environment,” Vialli told Samp TV.
“The task right now seems quite daunting, but you have to remain optimistic.
“If you start pointing your finger and start laying the blame on individuals then you are not going anywhere.”
Vialli’s goals fired Samp to their only ever Scudetto in 1991, but the club will now need strikes from Manolo Gabbiadini to stay up.
“He’s a valid youngster,” the former Italy striker added. “There are not that many left-footed players like him around at the moment.”
