Assistant manager Mauro Tassotti concedes Milan have to beat Sampdoria tonight. “We cannot afford any more mistakes.”

The Rossoneri have only five points from as many Serie A games and host Samp at San Siro this evening. Click here for the line-ups.

“We don’t have many points in the table and there’s a difficult away game next Sunday with Juventus” data-scaytid=”9″>Juventus, so we cannot afford any more mistakes,” Max Allegri’s assistant told Milan Channel.

They are fresh from a 2-1 home defeat to Napoli and two last-gasp draws away to Torino and Bologna.

“The team has done well in the last two rounds in terms of performance, especially in attack. However, when our opponents have the ball then we need to defend better. That means everyone improving in defending, not just those at the back.

“Sampdoria are hungry for points, the game could be more difficult than expected, so tonight we have to play well in order to bring home the three points.”

Mario Balotelli is suspended, so Alessandro Matri, Robinho and Valter Birsa again lead the attack.

“I think the fact Matri is always in front of goal is important and comforting. The ball will go in eventually,” continued Tassotti on Sky Sport Italia.

“Robinho is important and we tried to get him back in shape. I think compared to last season the leading pack are running quicker. We can’t just sit here looking at the table and weeping. We’ve got to focus on ourselves.”
