Gigi Buffon admits Juventus aren’t up to their usual standards in defence. “All of us could’ve done better, including me.”
The goalkeeper gave away Chievo’s goal in an eventual 2-1 Juve victory last night, his poor clearance allowing Cyril Thereau to score the opener.
“It would be better to take the lead rather than keep having to fight back, but to be honest in the last three or four games we always conceded with the first shot on target,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.
“The reasons are tied to the situations that get created in a match, but undoubtedly there were also mistakes by individuals and the team.
“At the end of the day all of us could’ve done a little better, including me. However, I think that these things can happen at the start of a season because it’s part of a journey that will take us back to being in top form.”
