Ljajic is in the squad for Monday night’s Serie A game with Catania, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll play. Click here for a match preview.
“I’m fed up of this situation,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“I think he showed something in the second half of last season, receiving in return the support of his teammates, club and Coach. I have neither the time nor the desire to wait for him, seeing as he’s not calm and focused on his work.”
The fans protested against Ljajic during training on Saturday and the situation is increasingly tense.
“The fans can do what they want to, just like Adem. I don’t think a few jeers can condition a player or a club. At times, jeers are a sign of interest...
“Catania are a very strong side and have hardly changed since last season, so they are a solid unit. We won’t rest players ahead of the Europa League play-off with Grasshoppers. We’ll use the players most functional to this match.
“The club asked me to repeat last season, qualifying for Europe and above all maintaining the same philosophy of football. We still need to work hard to reach the right level, but once we get there we’ll see if we can surpass it.
“Can I win at Fiorentina? That depends what you mean, as it doesn’t necessarily require you to lift a trophy. Last season in my view Fiorentina ‘won.’ I had fun and I’m happy with that.”
David Pizarro returns from injury after missing the 2-1 win in Zurich, but Massimo Ambrosini sits out a ban.
