Serie B side Palermo have told Fiorentina they have five days to make a bid for goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.

“I’ve been reading the links between Fiorentina and Sorrentino in the newspapers, but, as it stands, they haven’t been in touch,” President Maurizio Zamparini told Viola News.

“If they don’t make themselves heard this week then a deal won’t be done as we will need time to find a replacement.

“Sorrentino is an excellent goalkeeper, but he is available for transfer. We are open to anything, but, after a certain date, we won’t consider any offers.”

The Rosanero signed the shot-stopper in January from Chievo Verona, but he was unable to help the Sicilian giants stay in Serie A.

Sorrentino, 34, was linked with Roma before they netted Morgan De Sanctis. He is also on the radar of Torino.

Fiorentina this morning insisted they have no need for a new goalkeeper.
