Friendlies: Livorno impress, Genoa lose

Livorno, Chievo and Sassuolo earned friendly victories, but Genoa suffered a surprise defeat to Kaysespor.

David Dionisi converted a chipped penalty and Federico Ceccherini nodded in from a corner to give Livorno a 2-0 win over Greek side AEL Kalloni.

Chievo defeated Serie B team Bari 3-0, as Adrian Stoian bagged a brace and veteran Sergio Pellissier scored from the spot.

Sassuolo were fresh from their surprise Trofeo TIM victory ahead of Milan and Juventus this week and continued pre-season preparations.

They hammered local side Genova International 6-1 with two goals for Gomes, one each for Leonardo Pavoletti, Jasmin Kurtic, Diego Falcinelli and Simone Zaza.

However, Genoa fell to a 1-0 defeat to Turkish club Kaysespor, who are preparing for the Europa League preliminary round.

Genoa also announced that Stefano Eranio is the new Coach of their Primavera youth team.
