Milan face Valencia in the opening Guinness International Champions Cup on Saturday and Coach Miroslav Djukic is looking forward to it.

The tournament will be held throughout America over the next few weeks, including teams like Juventus, Inter, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Everton.

The inaugural game is played at Valencia’s Mestalla stadium on Saturday evening, kicking off at 19.00 UK time (18.00 GMT).

Massimiliano Allegri named his squad for the game, including Stephan El Shaarawy, but not Mario Balotelli.

“It is going to be a very important game for us,” said Valencia Coach Djukic. “Playing in front of our fans and against a great team.

“We have to show we can win. And it’s going to be a good test of our championship mentality – which is something we’ve been working on.

“We have to be equal with a rival team, but also be convinced of our own ability. We have worked on defensive adjustments in [a training camp in] Germany, and have tried to be more aggressive in midfield.”

Milan squad for Valencia: Abbiati, Amelia, Gabriel; Antonini, Bonera, Constant, De Sciglio, Mexes, Vergara, Zaccardo; Boateng, Cristante, Emanuelson, De Jong, Muntari, Nocerino, Poli, Traorè; El Shaarawy, Niang, Petagna, Robinho
