New Inter signing Mauro Icardi has insisted that he is not overawed by the prospect of wearing the No.9 shirt next season.
The Argentine youngster arrived from Sampdoria this summer and has claimed he will not be fazed by the coveted jersey.
“The important thing is not the number that you have on your shoulders,” he told Inter Channel.
“Last year I was No.98, and I did not care.
“It is true that the No.9 has been graced by some great champions, but I only took it because I like it so much.
“I want to thank all the fans so much for their warm welcome.
“I hope to repay them with a lot of goals.”
