Santos confirmed they will give a definitive answer to Robinho and Milan this evening after a board meeting.

The tug-of-war over the striker has gone on for months, as the clubs appear to have agreed a €7m transfer fee, but there are still discussions over his wage demands.

“We are analysing the situation, because the decisions made by Santos depend on the board,” Vice-President Odilio Rodrigues told Terra.

“Later today we will have a meeting and then give an official position on Robinho.”

There would be time to work on the issue, as the Brazilian Federation today announced it was postponing the transfer deadline from July 15 to July 20.

According to Brazilian media, Santos are now trying to find a sponsor who can help pay for the Robinho move.

There are also problems with Robinho’s demands, as he wants his personal trainer to be hired by the club, plus commission fees for his father and lawyer.
