Santos 'consider new Robinho terms'

Santos and Robinho’s lawyer are in advanced negotiations after Milan agreed to lower their price-tag. “We are evaluating the new situation.”

The forward this week announced agent Mino Raiola was not able to represent him in talks with Santos and had made outlandish demands.

He agreed to cut his wages and today the Rossoneri confirmed they had also changed their price-tag to a reported €8.5m.

“I met with Milan, told them of Santos’ interest and heard Milan’s conditions,” lawyer Marisa Ramos told Lancenet.

“Milan are open to the possibility of negotiations and gave me two figures, one minimum and one maximum. I passed those on to Santos Vice-President Odilio Rodrigues, who will evaluate them with other directors.”

The club is lowering its expectations on Robinho because selling him is imperative to get the market moving, but also as the Brazilian transfer session closes in just 10 days.

Negotiations already collapsed in January and Milan do not want to be left with him on their books again.

“Initially Milan asked us for €10m, a request we cannot satisfy,” added Santos Vice-President Rodrigues.

“We are evaluating the new situation and thinking about a three-year contract for the player. We know the fans want Robinho back and we intend to make them happy.”
