Sergio Busquets is impressed by Italy’s versatility in midfield, though “all their moves start from Andrea Pirlo.”

The Azzurri face Spain in the Confederations Cup semi-final on Thursday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

It’s reported Cesare Prandelli is switching to a 3-4-2-1 system that should pack the midfield, as Mario Balotelli is out injured.

“Italy have many versatile players who can switch to several different systems, even within the same game,” said Busquets in his Press conference.

“We know this and are working constantly to see what it is we have to do at each moment. Hopefully we will do our best to adapt to this system.

“Pirlo is a great player, but we are certainly not just discovering this now. All Italy’s moves start from Pirlo, as their attacking approach is based on him and he is also very good at free kicks. His quality is enormous and we enjoy playing against him.

“Balotelli is out of action, but Italy will not miss him too much, as they have replacements up to the task.”

Spain won all of their Confederations Cup games so far, whereas the Azzurri were beaten 4-2 by Brazil.

“At this stage of the competition there are no favourites, as any incident can take you to the Final or send you home.

“It’s true we are the reigning World and European champions, so the weight of being favourites is probably on our shoulders.”
