Deciding the future of Mattia Perin will be high on the priority list of new Genoa sporting director Daniele Delli Carri.
The latter is set to officially be confirmed in the role this week after leaving relegated Pescara for a fresh challenge.
Perin is a 20-year-old goalkeeper who will return to parent club Genoa this summer after his loan spell at Pescara came to an end.
“In the space of two years Perin will become one of the best goalkeepers in Italy,” Delli Carri, a former Torino and Genoa player, told Tele Nord.
“He has great personality and now we’ll have to see what to do with him.”
Genoa’s first choice goalkeeper is currently Sebastien Frey, an experienced 33-year-old who has played for the likes of Inter, Parma and Fiorentina.
Perin’s agent recently suggested that the player would not be returning to Marassi to sit on the bench in the new campaign.
