Bologna assured Alessandro Diamanti will not be leaving despite reports of a deal with Juventus. “We’ve received no offers.”

Rumours have been circulating for some time that Diamanti is a transfer target for Antonio Conte’s Juve with some even suggesting a deal has been struck over the last few days.

“The player has not asked to leave,” insisted director general Roberto Zanzi on Sky Sport Italia.

“Alino is happy in Bologna and he’s a fundamental player for us who fits in well in Stefano Pioli’s tactics.

“As of today, we’ve received no offers for him. There is absolutely no issue with Juventus, as we are only in talks with them over the co-ownership of Fredrik Sorensen.

“You can’t talk about saying goodbye to Diamanti when we aren’t even in negotiations.”

The issue over Alberto Gilardino is less clear, as the hitman spent this season at Bologna on loan from Genoa.

“We have the right to take up an option and we will discuss our position on this. We do want to keep hold of him.”

Both Gilardino and Diamanti played in last night’s friendly at the Stadio Dall’Ara, when Italy beat San Marino 4-0.
