There are reports from Spain that Real Madrid agreed terms with Edinson Cavani, but have not yet struck a deal with Napoli.

This week the Partenopei entered into negotiations with Manchester City, hoping to get Edin Dzeko in exchange for the Uruguayan hitman.

However, sources close to Cavani have consistently stated that Real Madrid would be his preferred option.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Real have now agreed personal terms with El Matador and his agent.

The stumbling block now is Napoli and the €63m buy-out clause, but that can be resolved in talks with the club.

President Florentino Perez wants to use Cavani as a publicity tool in his bid for re-election and is offering €45m plus players as part of the deal.
