Cagliari have lost their final appeal against a 3-0 home defeat to Roma inflicted by the courts after the Is Arenas saga.
The Serie A match was called off on the morning of September 23 because President Massimo Cellino publicly urged fans to attend despite the game being ordered behind closed doors due to security concerns at the Is Arenas stadium.
Local authorities considered that to be a public order risk caused by Cagliari and stopped the game from going ahead, so the Disciplinary Commission awarded a 3-0 win to Roma.
The Sardinian club has lodged numerous appeals to have the result scrapped and the match played, but today lost in the final level of the sporting justice system.
