Mazzarri: 'Take nothing for granted'

Walter Mazzarri isn’t celebrating yet, as Napoli still need three points to be sure of second place. “Nothing is to be taken for granted.”

The Partenopei seem secure with three rounds left after a 3-1 victory over Inter, in which Edinson Cavani bagged a hat-trick.

“There are three points to go, but we still have to pick them up,” warned the Coach.

“Nothing is to be taken for granted. I am happy with the fine performance from my team, as I was a little apprehensive after the 2-1 that we wouldn’t finish it off.

“Cavani scored 34 goals this season because the team is putting him in a position to get so many. I am happy with the way the whole squad is working.”

Today Juventus won the Scudetto and Mazzarri feels Napoli’s title hopes were always impossible.

“We earned 17 more points than last season, which says a great deal. We ran into a stratospheric Juventus, so must focus only on ourselves.

“My future? My future is Wednesday’s game with Bologna, especially as they are our bête noir. After the final game of the season with Roma, then I will talk to my President about the future.”
