“This is a prohibitively difficult game for us, but in football over the course of 90 minutes anything can happen,” noted co-Coach Bucchi.

“We must honour our participation in the Serie A tournament right to the end, putting the right spirit into our performance.

“I also want to publicly thank Walter Mazzarri, who said kind things about me. He worked as my Coach when I was a player, has done very well at every club and created a winning mentality. I hope he can remain with Napoli.”

Pescara are without Gaetano D’Agostino, Per Kroldrup, Vladimir Weiss and Juan Fernando Quintero, while captain Emmanuel Cascione is carrying a knock.

Pescara squad for Napoli: Pelizzoli, Perin; Balzano, Bianchi Arce, Bocchetti, Zanon, Modesto, Capuano, Cosic, Zauri; Bjarnason, Blasi, Rizzo, Cascione, Togni; Abbruscato, Caraglio, Caprari, Celik, Sforzini, Sculli, Vukusic, Di Francesco
