Luca Cigarini will probably remain at Atalanta for the 2013-14 campaign, his agent has commented.
The midfielder has been on loan in Bergamo from Napoli since 2011, but the club have an option to sign him outright in the summer.
“I think he’ll stay where he is,” Giovanni Bia told calciomercato.it. “I spoke with director general Pierpaolo Marino last week.
“We agreed that we will talk again once the club have confirmed their safety in Serie A.
“They really want to focus on him and that is why I believe he will remain in Nerazzurro.”
The playmaker, 26, has scored three goals in 23 League games this season.
He has been called up by Italy boss Cesare Prandelli on two occasions, but he has yet to win his first cap.
