Catania have officially extended Coach Rolando Maran’s contract to June 2015. “For the first time our project can grow over a three-year period.”

Maran was brought in this season to replace Vincenzo Montella and has taken them to eighth place, where they are challenging for a Europa League spot.

“We are pleased to announce the extension of our contract with Coach Rolando Maran until June 30 2015,” said President Antonino Pulvirenti in a Press conference.

“For the first time our project can grow and develop over a three-year period. This shows consistency with a choice to strengthen our initial idea and send an important signal to everyone.

“Our proposal confirms the excellent work done by the Coach along with the club infrastructure and the staff.

“This has been an extraordinary season, becoming a reference point on which we will build the next.

“Thanks to the shared ideas, with this contract we are guaranteed the advantage of planning our work for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns.”

This is Maran’s debut Serie A season, as he had been in charge of Cittadella, Brescia, Bari, Triestina, Vicenza and Varese before coming to Catania in June 2012.
