The agent of Manuel Pasqual has asked Fiorentina to question the decision to again omit him from the Italy squad.
Cesare Prandelli named a 27-man party yesterday for the games against Brazil and Malta, but the left-back wasn’t included.
“The season of Manuel is under the eyes of everyone, he is having an extraordinary campaign,” Gastone Rizzato told FirenzeViola.it.
“His omission from the national squad? To be honest, I’d like Fiorentina to intervene on this matter.
“I have frequently stated that Manuel has no equals in his role. He has grown a lot both mentally and physically.
“He is the captain of Fiorentina, one of the powers of Italian football.
“In my opinion, Pasqual is not the only player who hasn’t been taken into consideration by Prandelli. There are others too who deserved the call.
“I hope that Fiorentina decide to take up a position on the matter.”
The almost 31-year-old has won two caps for his country, but they both came in 2006 when Marcello Lippi and then Roberto Donadoni were in charge of the side.
Prandelli today said of Pasqual: “I decided to select players in their 20s who have more prospects for the future.
“I have great consideration for Pasqual though.”
