Gerard Pique has made clear his faith that Barcelona can turn around their Champions League tie with Milan tomorrow evening.

The Catalans play host in the second leg of this Last 16 tie and need to overcome a 2-0 deficit from the first leg if they are to have any hope of progressing to the quarter-finals.

Taking the pre-game Press conference, the Spanish centre-back affirmed his belief that that is possible.

“I have the feeling that we can do it,” enthused the defender to reporters today.

“We are playing against one of the greatest, Milan, with a history full of Champions League and Italian League titles, they will be a very difficult opponent.

“But, we have the Camp Nou and a team that is the best we have ever had at this club, I honestly believe that we have the team and the talent to do it.”

Pique also has some encouragement for the club’s supporters.

“We want them to engage. Above all, we need people to believe in us. Those who do not believe in the comeback, do not come.

“The other day I was thinking, we went 90 years without winning anything, Cruyff has then changed our mentality. In the past 10, 15, 20 years of the club we have made history.

“Eleven or 12 years ago, people celebrated when we qualified for the Champions League with a goal from Rivaldo. This team has won much, it deserves all the credit in the world.”

Pique was asked his view on why the club have struggled in recent games to score goals.

“We have more than 20 more goals scored in La Liga than the next best team, if something is missing from this team then it is not goals.

“Yes we know that we will be facing an Italian team, and historically I guess that with it at 2-0 they will shut out space at the back, but playing like we know we can, we will be there.

“The small details will see us make the next round.

“Tomorrow there will be no excuse, the grass on the pitch will be cut to the perfect height, it will be watered as we like it too, the Camp Nou will be full, tomorrow there will be no excuse.

“This team is going to respond.
