New Pescara Coach Cristian Bucchi is prepared for his debut in a relegation dogfight with Atalanta. “We’re going there to win, not to draw or defend ourselves.”

The Primavera youth team boss was promoted to the main job this week after Cristiano Bergodi was sacked, becoming Pescara’s third manager of the season.

“I want the team to rediscover its enthusiasm that was lost with the last few defeats,” he said in a Press conference.

“There are still 11 games to go and a long time left, but we must find the strength to climb back up the standings.

“We’re going to Bergamo in order to win, not to draw or defend ourselves. These three points are absolutely vital for us.”

The Delfini are rock bottom of the Serie A table on 21 points, alongside Siena and Palermo, while Atalanta have 30.

“My predecessors did well, even very well in some moments. Unfortunately certain situations influenced the results, as again last Sunday we were denied two penalties.”

Pescara squad for Atalanta: Pelizzoli, Perin; Balzano, Bianchi Arce, Bocchetti, Cosic, Kroldrup, Zanon; Bjarnason, Blasi, Cascione, D'Agostino, Quintero, Togni; Abbruscato, Caprari, Caraglio, Celik, Sculli, Weiss, Vukusic
