Vladimir Petkovic is confident Lazio can get a result away to Stuttgart tomorrow, as “they have weaknesses and we want to make the most of them.”

The Biancocelesti are still unbeaten in Europe so far this season and eliminated Borussia Monchengladbach 5-3 on aggregate in the last round.

“Stuttgart are a strong squad who have recently had problems, but they are very compact and physically strong,” said Petkovic in his Press conference.

“They are quick on the wings, aggressive and dangerous in the air. We’ll try to turn that to our favour, as they have some weaknesses and we want to make the most of them.

“My team must be aware of its abilities and continue the positive streak in Europe. This game will not be decisive, but it will give us some important answers ahead of the second leg.

“Lazio have proved themselves many times. Even in the 3-0 defeat to Milan, I wasn’t disappointed with the way we played while we had 11 men on the field. We must fight to score a goal and not concede, as this tie is played over 180 minutes.

“I am not worried by our results away from home, but we will become a big club when we are able to perform the same way in any stadium.”

The first leg will be particularly important, as Lazio must play the return match behind closed doors at the Stadio Olimpico due to repeated racist and fascistic imagery from certain sections of the crowd.

“There will be many Stuttgart fans pushing their side towards victory, as they want to continue in Europe. In the home leg, even if it’s behind closed doors, we will still have an advantage,” insisted Petkovic.
