Vincenzo Montella told Fiorentina that criticism “is healthy and helps us to grow even more” ahead of Sunday’s match with Chievo.
The Viola are still in the hunt for Europe, but followed up a 4-1 mauling of Inter with a 2-1 defeat at Bologna.
“Criticism is healthy and helps us to grow even more,” insisted the Coach in his Press conference.
“We were not practical enough in Bologna because, as often happens, we are unable to control the lead despite taking on an inferior opponent.
“Only by being more aggressive can we suffer less and do better. It’s not easy to think that way, so we need to be more clinical in attack and in defence.
“It is necessary to identify and understand our limitations, because this team is still in the development phase. We are not perfect and still need time.”
David Pizarro returns from suspension for Sunday’s game against Chievo, though Juan Cuadrado sits out a ban instead.
Fiorentina squad for Chievo: Aquilani, Borja Valero, Compper, El Hamdaoui, Fernandez, Jovetic, Larrondo, Ljajic, Llama, Lupatelli, Migliaccio, Neto, Pasqual, Pizarro, Rodriguez, Romulo, Roncaglia, Savic, Tomovic, Toni, Viviano, Wolski, Sissoko
