Rolando Maran has admitted that he’s surprised that his Catania side are so close to the Champions League zone.
The Sicilian outfit, who hired Maran following Vincenzo Montella’s switch to Fiorentina, are challenging the top spots after a fine campaign.
“I didn’t expect us to get to the position we are in now which is three points behind third-placed Milan,” the tactician, whose side are joint sixth, told Sky Sport Italia.
“It means that we have worked hard to get to this beautiful position in the League table that we currently occupy.”
Catania, who have won five of their last seven games, beat Parma on Sunday. They will face Inter, Juventus, Udinese and Lazio in their next four ties.
