Inter legend Sandro Mazzola has hailed Samir Handanovic after his latest string of heroics for the Nerazzurri.
Handanovic was in fine form again for the Beneamata on Sunday as he kept his team in the Milan derby with some fine saves.
“Handanovic is doing some good and important things,” Mazzola told Radio Anch’Io Sport on Monday morning after the weekend’s 1-1 draw.
“He is certainly the No 1 at this moment in time,” the former midfielder added. “He is reminding me a little of Dino Zoff.”
The San Siro giants opted to sign Handanovic in the summer from Udinese after telling Brazilian international Julio Cesar that he was no longer needed.
Zoff, a Juventus legend, captained Italy to World Cup success in 1982 at the age of 40.
