Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has silenced the rumours about the future of Massimiliano Allegri.

The latter is being linked with a possible summer move to Roma, but Galliani seems keen to keep a tight grip on the man who is contracted at the club until 2014.

“Allegri’s job was safe when we were losing, so it’s even safer now,” the official noted. “He was the main protagonist behind the win over Barcelona.”

Milan stole the headlines this week with a surprising and competent 2-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League.

“I’m still euphoric,” Galliani added. “I think the win improved the self-confidence of everyone.”

There’s another massive game for the Diavolo this Sunday when they take on city rivals Inter.

“It will be an interesting derby, there is only one point between us and we’re fighting to reach the Champions League.

“We are two sides who are as good as each other. They did better than us at the start of the season, now we have the advantage.”

Milan are third in Serie A, one point above the Beneamata.
