Liverpool forward Fabio Borini is hoping to recover from his latest injury in time to make Italy’s Under-21 squad for the European Championship Finals.

Borini, who fractured his foot earlier on this season, dislocated his shoulder in the win over Swansea at the weekend.

“It’s been an unfortunate campaign,” agent Marco De Marchi told TMW. “He’ll be examined in England and in Italy over the next few days.

“He’s already had an injury of this kind on his other shoulder so we already know what steps need to be taken.

“The medics will need to decide whether surgery is needed or not. If that is the case then his season with Liverpool will basically be over.

“The hope is that the boy at least recovers in time for the European Championship with his national side at the end of the season.”

Borini, who joined the Premiership outfit from Roma, has been linked with a summer switch to Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”8″>Fiorentina.

“His future is definitely at Liverpool,” the representative added. “He’s signed a long-term deal with one of the most glorious sides in the world game.”
