Sardinian politician Mauro Pili has claimed that Cagliari's match against Torino this weekend will be played at the Is Arenas.
The Isolani have had extended issues this season with their new stadium, after the local council insisted that the ground was unsafe, despite only being built in the summer.
The Rossoblu had their game against Juventus before Chirstmas moved to Stadio Ennio Tardini in Parma due to safety concerns, and there were also reports that the match with Milan earlier this month would also have to be moved – although that never materialised.
But the politician has insisted today, that he would be happy to personally sign a decree claiming the ground as safe, in the absence of President Massimo Cellino.
“The Is Arenas will be used – no ifs or buts,” he posted on his Facebook page. “In the current climate it would be difficult for anything administrative to happen.
“But I am ready to take responsibility for signing any authorisation.”
