Vincenzo Montella insists Fiorentina are “not worried” by their current form and want a reaction against Inter on Sunday evening.

The Viola have struggled in 2013 and were beaten 2-0 by rivals Juventus last weekend.

“We made some mistakes and were fired up, but evidently proved we are a level below them,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“It’s a shame the way the game went, because the fans and club really wanted a good result. This is football and I hope it can serve as a small lesson we can learn from in future.

“We started the season very well and raised expectations, so now we must do well to respect them. Inter are in great shape and very strong, but I am not worried. We have their same desire to win, though of course if we continued to not get the victory then I’d start to worry.

“The team wants to react tomorrow and a win could allow us to think about the season and ourselves in a different way. Maybe we are more prepared to face Inter now than we were at San Siro.”

There are reports that fan favourites Facundo Roncaglia and Stevan Jovetic could be benched, as they are struggling for form.

“Roncaglia is not confident or calm right now and we have many alternatives in that position. We are certain he can return to the extraordinary level he had a few months ago.

“Jovetic works hard and we always expect him to put in great performances. In terms of sacrifice, you cannot complain. He is a top player and a resource for the club, so has to be dealt with.”

Inter played in the Europa League on Thursday and also lost Diego Milito for at least six months with a knee injury.

“I hope Milito can return as soon as possible. He makes the difference and will be an absence Inter feel keenly. Inter seem to have improved recently, especially in midfield, and can achieve anything with that group of players.

“The important thing for me is that we don’t lose our shape or identity. I am happy to take the blame for this dip in form, because the team is doing its all. I am convinced the side will return to winning the way it did at the start of the season. I’ve never had such a strong squad at my disposal.”
