Alberto Malesani makes his Palermo debut in a relegation dogfight with Pescara tomorrow and warned his players “must adapt” to their third Coach of the season.

He was drafted in this week after Gian Piero Gasperini was sacked, while Giuseppe Sannino got the boot just three rounds into the campaign.

“It was an intense week and my staff carefully analysed the issues around these lads,” said Malesani in his Press conference.

“Are there problems? Yes, but we’re keeping them to ourselves and there were also positives too. I want the players to adapt to their new Coach.

“Now we need a desire to win. Tomorrow we will play with a more packed midfield, though whether a trequartista is included depends on the player and the game.”

Fabrizio Miccoli is suspended, while Josip Ilicic is an injury doubt for Sunday’s game.

“I think that if we consider this to be a decisive game, then so do Pescara,” continued Malesani.

“We need humility and a great deal of balance. I just hope the lads are motivated, but we’ll only really understand the situation tomorrow.

“I found a hungry team and a few interesting elements in the Primavera youth squad too. Many of the players currently lack consistency.

“I hope the fans will support us, as they could be very important for the team.”
