It is still not clear where Cagliari-Milan will be played on Sunday afternoon, as the club and local Mayor disagree over whether the Is Arenas stadium is ready.

This morning the Mayor of Quartu Sant’Elena spoke to Radio Sportiva to confirm the Is Arenas has not passed security checks for such a big game.

“Some problems have come to light with regards to keeping public order. At the moment, we cannot guarantee safety during the match, but hope it can be played with a limited number of supporters.”

This situation already emerged in December against Juventus” data-scaytid=”20″>Juventus, when the game was moved to neutral turf at Parma’s Stadio Tardini.

Cagliari again insist they have performed the necessary work to pass security tests, improving the lay-out of CCTV cameras.

It remains to be seen whether this will be enough or if it’s too late to change the minds of the Lega Serie A.

If the Is Arenas is deemed out of bounds, then the Sunday afternoon kick-off is likely to be played in Trieste.
