Perinetti replaces Lo Monaco

Giorgio Perinetti has been re-appointed as director of football at Palermo following Pietro Lo Monaco's resignation.

Sky Sport Italia have confirmed that the 62-year-old will take over from Lo Monaco at the Rosanero after a turbulent few days at the club.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini was sacked with the team languishing at the bottom of Serie A, and has been replaced by Alberto Malesani.

The man in charge of transfers at the Sicilian team then decided to step down, despite having brought in a host of new players over January.

Perinetti, who was previously at Palermo for one month last season, has been reinstated following a spell at Siena.
